Indirect bilirubin

Indirect bilirubin – insoluble in water, neurotoxic and forms soluble reversible complexes with albumin. Indirect (unconjugated) bilirubin increases in hemolysis, neonatal jaundice, vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency anemia.

Recommendations:

• It is recommended to perform prophylactically once a year, for disease diagnosis and treatment control, performed periodically according to doctor's instructions.
• Test results are affected by medications taken, diet (dietary supplements used).
• For sample collection, fasting for 12 hours is required.
