Gardnerella vaginalis (PGR) in urine

Gardnerella vaginalis is a bacterium naturally present in the vaginal microbiota of women, but it can cause infections if the microbiota is disrupted. Women may experience unpleasant, often fishy-smelling vaginal discharge, gray-white or white discharge, itching, burning, irritation. Gardnerella vaginalis usually does not cause symptoms in men, but it can sometimes be found along with other bacteria in the genital organs. Men can be carriers of the bacteria and potential spreaders of infections.
