Coprogram

Coprogram – is a microscopic stool examination that evaluates physical, microscopic stool indicators, helping to assess the function and potential disorders of the digestive system. The test is conducted to diagnose digestive tract diseases, pancreatic enzyme insufficiency, liver dysfunction, inflammatory, parasitic, or infectious intestinal diseases. 

Coprogram is a non-invasive and informative test, often used as an initial method for examining intestinal pathologies. The test evaluates physical parameters such as color, consistency, and microscopically determines undigested food residues, muscle fibers, connective tissue, fats, starch, fiber, soaps, leukocytes, erythrocytes, and mucus. This analysis allows assessing the progress of digestive processes at various stages of the digestive tract.

Test principle: macroscopic and microscopic analysis of a stool sample is performed. 

Recommendations:

• It is recommended to perform the test in case of digestive disorders (diarrhea, constipation, bloating), suspecting pancreatic, liver, or intestinal diseases.
• Useful for evaluating treatment effectiveness in chronic intestinal diseases.
• It is recommended to follow a normal diet (avoid iron supplements, enzyme preparations, laxatives) for 3–5 days before the test.
• The sample must be fresh, collected in a special sterile container, without urine or water impurities.
• The test is not recommended for women during menstruation due to the possibility of false blood detection.
