Heart and Vascular Examinations

Blood take service 5.00€

Blood markers of different purposes are used to assess the risk of cardiovascular diseases and certain heart conditions. Total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides help evaluate the long-term risk of cardiovascular diseases, while NT-proBNP, creatine kinase, and its fractions are used for other diagnostic purposes.

Lipid tests assess risk, not just 'good' or 'bad' cholesterol

A lipid profile helps assess the profile of fats in the blood. LDL cholesterol is one of the most important indicators of atherosclerotic risk, but its target level depends on the overall risk of the individual: age, blood pressure, smoking, diabetes, already diagnosed heart disease, and other factors.

Additionally, lipoprotein(a), homocysteine, NT-proBNP, and other markers can be tested. Lipoprotein(a) is largely genetically determined and can complement risk assessment. NT-proBNP is most commonly used to assess the likelihood of heart failure in individuals with relevant symptoms - it is not a general preventive 'heart health' test.

If you are undergoing tests prophylactically, it is rational to start with the main risk indicators, and choose specialized markers based on the individual situation and doctor's recommendations.
