Sex Hormone Tests

Blood take service 5.00€

Sex hormone tests may be prescribed to assess menstrual cycle disorders, fertility, ovulation, menopause, changes in testosterone or other androgens, and certain endocrine conditions. When evaluating hormone test results, it's important to consider the time of the cycle or day the test was performed and the reason it was prescribed.

Why can the time of testing be important?

The concentration of FSH, LH, estradiol, and progesterone may vary depending on the phase of the menstrual cycle. Prolactin can be affected by stress and other circumstances, and for some hormones, the time of day is important. Therefore, if the test was prescribed by a doctor, it's worth following the specified cycle day or sample collection time.

A result deviating from laboratory norms does not necessarily indicate a disease. For example, testosterone is sometimes assessed together with SHBG, and reproductive hormones are often interpreted as an interrelated system.

What tests can be chosen?

FSH, LH, estradiol, progesterone, prolactin, testosterone, DHT, DHEA-SO4, SHBG, and other hormone tests can be performed. In addition, cortisol, ACTH, PTH, and other endocrine tests are offered. They are used to assess other hormone system functions, so it's worth choosing a specific test based on the problem being investigated.
