FSH | Follicle Stimulating Hormone

Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) – regulates and stimulates the growth and function of gonads (ovaries and testes). In the female body, FSH together with LH stimulates estrogen secretion and ovulation. Due to changes in ovarian function and decreased estrogen secretion, a high concentration of FSH is determined during menopause. In men, FSH induces spermatogonia development. The test of FSH concentration is used to investigate dysfunctions of the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal system.
