Tests
Heavy metal and other element tests are conducted when it is necessary to assess the amount of a specific substance in the body – for example, due to potential occupational, domestic, or environmental exposure. At REZUS, it is possible to test for lead, mercury, arsenic, aluminum, nickel, chromium, cobalt, and other elements.
The test should be chosen based on potential exposure
There is no single result that shows the overall 'heavy metal levels in the body.' Different substances enter the body in different ways, accumulate differently, and can be tested in different samples. Therefore, it is most meaningful to first determine which substance might have been contacted and when it happened.
Non-specific symptoms such as fatigue or headaches alone do not allow one to decide which metal to test. If poisoning or significant contact with a specific substance at work, home, or through a particular product is suspected, it is worth discussing the testing plan with a doctor or clinical toxicologist.
In addition to classic toxic heavy metals, other elements such as iodine or selenium can also be tested. Their result interpretation and testing purpose differ, so the test should be chosen based on the specific reason for which it is conducted.
