Tin

Tin is present in the body in very small amounts. Tin belongs to heavy metals with easily manifested toxic effects and can negatively affect the body. The non-damaging concentration of tin in the human body is 3 µg/g. When there is too much tin, one may experience a metallic taste in the mouth, poor appetite, abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea. Organic tin compounds are harmful to humans and accumulate in the liver. They negatively affect the immune system, nerve cells, and embryonic development. Most of these compounds are ingested through seafood. Tin disrupts the human endocrine system, most often entering the body through eating fish.
