Description

Luteinizing hormone (LH) - determination of concentration is used to explain hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal system function disorders. LH stimulates ovulation and stimulates the synthesis of estradiol (and other estrogens) and progesterone in ovarian cells. LH activates testosterone synthesis in men. Testosterone in turn inhibits the release of LH.
