Roma scale: postmenopause
The validity period of online orders: 3 months from the purchase date.
What is it?
ROMA (Risk of Ovarian Malignancy Algorithm) – is an algorithm that helps assess the risk of ovarian cancer based on two biological markers – HE4 and CA-125, and the woman's menopausal status. This variant is applied to postmenopausal women.
When is it recommended?
- Detected ovarian mass in ultrasound;
- Monitoring existing ovarian disease or aiming to detect an oncological process early;
- Planning surgical treatment.
Benefit to the patient:
The ROMA scale helps the doctor determine whether a woman needs specialized oncological care. This is especially important for assessing the risk of malignant processes in early stages.
Important:
ROMA is not a diagnostic test, but a risk assessment tool. If the risk is increased – further investigations are recommended (e.g., CT, MRI, or laparoscopy).
