Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor/Neuroblastoma-Her-2/neu (Breast Cancer Marker) - this marker, an oncoprotein, is determined in breast cancer (or other tissue) biopsy material. It is appropriate to determine only in cancerous tissue cells. Approximately 25–30% of breast and ovarian cancers are characterized by pronounced Her-2/neu. If breast cancer cells are characterized by well-expressed Her-2/neu expression (overexpression), they grow and metastasize slightly more aggressively.
