Insulin

Insulin is a hormone that lowers blood glucose levels. The insulin test is used for the diagnosis and treatment of various carbohydrate metabolism disorders, including diabetes mellitus and hypoglycemia. Determining insulin concentration in serum is most often performed in patients with symptoms of hypoglycemia and can be valuable for classifying different types of diabetes.
