Anti-ICA (pancreatic islet antibodies)

Anti-ICA (pancreatic islet antibodies) is one of the most widely used serological immune markers for so-called type 1 CD and pre-diabetes. Anti-ICA begins to circulate in the blood of people several months or years before the development of type 1 CD. About two years after the development of the disease, the amount of anti-ICA begins to decrease or, in most cases, completely disappear from the patient's blood.
