AMA | Screening assay for antimitochondrial antibodies

Antimitochondrial antibodies (AMA) - this indicator is determined when primary biliary cirrhosis is suspected. It is often recommended to determine the AMA indicator together with the ANA indicator, because some patients with primary biliary cirrhosis have very high ANA titers. The AMA indicator helps to differentiate chronic liver diseases. The AMA indicator is positive in more than 80% of patients with primary biliary cirrhosis.
