AFP  | Alpha-fetaprotein (testicular cancer marker)

AFP (Alpha-fetaprotein) | Testicular Cancer Marker - (ovary, liver, ovarian germ cell, testicular cancer marker) - it is produced in the yolk sac during the fetal period, as well as in undifferentiated liver cells and the digestive tract. AFP is an adjunct in the care of patients with non-seminoma germ cell tumors and is an integral part of testing, along with other parameters to assess the risk of trisomy 21 (Down syndrome). AFP is also elevated in primary liver cancer.
