Dr. Andrius Bleizgys
Experienced family doctor, working in primary health care for over 20 years. Combines clinical work with scientific and pedagogical activities at Vilnius University. Areas of interest – health promotion, prevention, and the significance of vitamin D for human health. Actively participates in professional organizations and health policy expertise activities.
The doctor consults adults and children from the age of 14.

1995 – 2001 – studies at the Faculty of Medicine, Vilnius University
2001 – 2002 – primary residency (internship) at Vilnius University
2002 – 2004 – Family Medicine specialty residency at Vilnius University
2005 – 2008 – Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Vilnius University
Professional Experience
Over 20 years of experience as a family doctor (work in a family doctor's practice, preventive health checks, etc.).
Has worked in various personal health care institutions as the chairman or member of Doctor's Consultative Commissions.
From 2015 – 2019 worked as the head of the Internal Diseases Department of the Polyclinic of Vilnius City Clinical Hospital.
Scientific and Pedagogical Activities
Main research direction since 2010 – prevalence of vitamin D deficiency, causes, and associations with various human health disorders.
In 2014 defended the dissertation “Seasonal Changes in Vitamin D Concentration in Young Men and Their Associations with Soluble Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecules”; awarded the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences.
Since 2009 has worked as an assistant (resident supervisor), later – lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Vilnius University; from 2024 – senior lecturer.
Since 2010 participates in the activities of the Student Scientific Activities Network (SMVT): member of student scientific work evaluation committees; supervisor of student and resident scientific works.
Gave presentations at scientific conferences in Lithuania and abroad (Poland, France, Ireland, Spain, Slovakia).
Qualification Improvement
Continuously improves qualifications at various conferences, courses, and seminars for family and other specialty doctors in Lithuania and abroad.

Expert Activities:
Has collaborated for many years as an expert with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania, participating in working groups, committees, and other structures organized by the ministry, and with the State Accreditation Service for Health Care Activities under the Ministry of Health.
From March 2025, is a non-staff expert of the Health Affairs Committee of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.
