A T T E N T I O N! The test is intended only for women.
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) – a widely spread virus transmitted through skin or mucous contact, most often during sexual intercourse. Certain types of this virus can be considered “high risk” because they are closely associated with the development of malignant tumors. A test is performed using the DNA PCR method for 14 genotypes (16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66, 68).
What do HPV tests reveal?
- Determines the presence of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) in the body.
- Identifies the virus type and its risk level.
- Ensures early detection, allowing for health monitoring and prevention of infection spread and complication development.
- Complements cervical cytology tests (PAP test) that help assess cell condition changes.
High-risk HPV types are associated with an increased likelihood of oncological diseases.
Who should consider HPV testing?
- Sexually active women, especially those over 30 years of age, when the immune system may be less effective in eliminating the virus.
- Women whose PAP test results indicate possible cell changes or anomalies.
