Adrenaline Concentration Determination

What is it?
This is a blood test that determines the concentration of adrenaline, one of the main stress hormones. Adrenaline is produced in the adrenal medulla and affects heart rate, blood pressure, glucose concentration, and the overall 'fight or flight' response.

How is it performed?
The test is performed from venous blood. It is recommended to come in the morning, in a state of rest, avoiding stress, caffeine, and physical exertion before the test.

When is it recommended?

• Suspecting pheochromocytoma (a hormone-producing adrenal tumor);
• In cases of sudden blood pressure fluctuations, tachycardia;
• Assessing the activity of stress hormones or disorders of the autonomic nervous system.

Benefit:
Helps determine if there is abnormal adrenaline release in the body. It is an important test for differentiating various endocrine or neurological conditions.
