Intravenous iron therapy
Iron infusion – is a treatment method where iron supplements are administered directly into the vein through a drip. It is an effective and fast way to increase iron levels in the blood, especially when the deficiency is severe, and oral supplements are ineffective, intolerable, or work too slowly.
Service is provided at the following addresses:
- Vilnius: Ozo g. 18 (PC Ozas, II floor); Švitrigailos g. 11B
- Kaunas: Kęstučio g. 38;
- Šiauliai: Gumbinės g. 33C.
Benefits
- Quickly restores iron stores
Compared to dietary supplements or diet changes, intravenous infusion achieves results faster – iron concentration in the blood increases within a few days, and the clinical effect is felt within a few weeks. - Reduces anemia symptoms
Iron deficiency causes fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, and concentration problems. Infusion helps quickly restore oxygen transport in the body, so patients often notice improved well-being, more energy, and easier breathing.
Recommended for
- Patients with iron deficiency anemia
- Those experiencing chronic fatigue, weakness, dizziness
- In cases of absorption disorders (e.g., celiac disease, Crohn's disease)
- Athletes with reduced physical performance due to iron deficiency
- Other indications prescribed by a doctor
Procedure
Infusion is administered into the vein, duration – about 60-120 minutes.
How many ampoules do I need?
A complete blood count, iron, and ferritin concentration determination must be performed. During the consultation, a family doctor or specialist will assess the blood test results to determine if an iron infusion is necessary, and prescribe an individually tailored dose and number of infusions. Each patient's needs are different – in some cases, one infusion is sufficient, while in others, several may be needed.
A doctor's consultation is required before the injection procedure. REGISTER
