When is it recommended?
- In newborns when CAH is suspected (a common screening test);
- In women with menstrual irregularities, increased hair growth, infertility;
- When hormonal imbalance is suspected.
Benefits to the patient:
Helps diagnose adrenal function disorders and select appropriate treatment. Early detection of disorders in newborns can prevent life-threatening conditions.

The interpretation of the test depends on the patient's age, gender, and the time of the test. Sometimes repeated tests or stimulation tests (e.g., ACTH) are necessary.
