After Summer Moles Became Prominent: What to Do and What Signs Can Warn About the Deceptive Melanoma (Skin Cancer)?
The skin is the largest human organ and its changes are easily visible. Various skin formations cause concern for many, while some dismiss changes that are obvious even to those around them.
Skin formations are usually benign, such as moles, soft fibromas, hemangiomas, warts, seborrheic keratoses, etc. If you feel aesthetic or physical discomfort due to skin formations, it's useful to get checked and, after assessing the risks, remove the obstructive formations.
Only about 1% of people are born with one or several congenital moles, all other moles are acquired later. The more we are in the sun, the more moles we may have or the existing ones may darken. However, UV radiation can cause a lot of damage – both darkening skin formations and encouraging them to become malignant.
It's important to examine and monitor changed moles. Of course, melanoma is the most feared, as it is the most aggressive form of skin cancer, which, if not diagnosed in time, can spread to other organs. Those with fair skin (first and second skin types), as well as those who have had severe sunburns and actively visit solariums, are at greater risk. There is also a risk for those who spend a lot of time or work outdoors. If moles significantly increased, changed shape or color after sun exposure, one should be concerned and consult a doctor.
Not everyone might know that small surgical operations can be performed quickly and safely in a clinic setting and there is no need to be hospitalized. Small skin or subcutaneous formations, other health or aesthetic problems requiring a surgeon's intervention at the Rezus.lt clinic, located at Gumbinės g. 33C, Šiauliai, are removed surgically or by radiosurgery.
Radiosurgery is a safe and fast way to remove various skin formations without surgery: moles, warts, papillomas, enlarged sebaceous glands (lipomas), condylomas, angiomas, and other skin formations. Undesirable skin formations are effectively removed with a thin needle electrode not only on the face, neck, or body areas but also on the hairy head part.
Depending on the type and location of the formations, local anesthesia may be applied during their removal, and a histological examination of the formation can be performed.
If the patient has a referral from a family doctor, the surgeon's consultation is free.
However, these services are also available to patients without a family doctor's referral, those uninsured, or those coming from abroad. Services are provided for a fee.
