Electrocardiogram (ECG) records the heart's bioelectrical potentials and, together with clinical data, allows diagnosing changes in heart activity, monitoring the progression of a pathological process, and predicting its outcomes. ECG is one of the main and most frequently used examination methods. 

ECG can help identify heart rhythm disorders – too fast rhythm (tachycardia), too slow (bradycardia), and too irregular (arrhythmia). From the ECG, a doctor can usually determine where the impulse disrupting the rhythm originates and often the cause of it.
