Toxocora Canis IgG antibodies

IgG class antibodies can be detected as early as the second–third week from the onset of infection and they persist for a long time or throughout life. IgG antibodies indicate that the infection with toxocara occurred long ago, but if the IgG antibody titer increases in repeated tests, it may suggest that the toxocariasis process has exacerbated or there has been a reinfection. All samples with borderline results are retested after 2–3 weeks and changes in the tests are evaluated.
