Microscopic Skin Examination for Fungal Detection (Palm Skin)

What is it? 

This is a microscopic examination to search for signs of fungal infection on the palm skin. Scrapes are taken from areas of redness or scaling. 

When is it recommended? 

• In cases of itching, redness, or scaling; 
• Suspecting skin mycosis or contact dermatitis; 
• When conventional treatments are ineffective. 

Benefits: 

Helps quickly identify or rule out fungal infections and prescribe appropriate antifungal treatment. 

How is it performed? 

Skin scrapes are taken with a special tool from the affected area and examined under a microscope.
