Determination of Apolipoproteins A1 and B Ratio
Reference: 15257The validity period of online orders: 3 months from the purchase date.
What is it?
Apolipoproteins are proteins associated with blood lipids. ApoA1 is associated with HDL ("good") cholesterol, and ApoB is associated with LDL ("bad") cholesterol. Their ratio helps to more accurately assess the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
When is it recommended?
When a more accurate assessment of lipid metabolism is needed, especially if general lipid tests indicate risk or are borderline. Suitable for evaluating the effectiveness of treatment, familial hyperlipidemia inheritance.
Benefits:
The ApoB/ApoA1 ratio is considered a more accurate indicator of atherosclerosis risk than LDL or HDL cholesterol alone. A low ratio indicates lower risk, a high ratio indicates increased risk.
Important to know:
The test is suitable for patients whose standard cholesterol indicators do not provide a clear answer about heart disease risk.
