Haemophilus ducreyi is a bacterium causing a sexually transmitted infection that manifests as a painful ulcerative disease. The infection begins as a small, red nodule on the genitals or anal area, which quickly turns into a painful, open ulcer. The incubation period lasts from 4 to 10 days after infection. If left untreated, the infection causes significant pain and discomfort, especially during urination and sexual intercourse. It is recommended to perform this test if ulcers are visible on the genitals, but negative results are obtained from Treponema pallidum, HSV 1/2 tests.
