Paternitysafe®

Paternitysafe® is a non-invasive prenatal test that allows determining if a person is the biological father of a child before birth. The test is performed using a blood sample from the mother and a buccal epithelial sample from the potential father. Fetal DNA isolated from the mother's blood and the potential father's DNA are analyzed to determine biological paternity based on genetic matching. 

If necessary, multiple potential fathers can be tested.

The test is not performed if the potential fathers are identical twins. The test does not apply if the pregnancy is dichorionic twin. Results are presented as a match (biological paternity confirmed) or mismatch (biological paternity denied).

Recommendation from when to perform the test: singleton, monochorionic twin from 9+0 weeks of pregnancy.
