A new family clinic opens its doors in Santariškės: invites registration for free health care
Access to healthcare remains one of the most sensitive topics in the capital - Vilnius residents often face long queues in polyclinics and difficulties accessing a family doctor. At the same time, not all residents know that state-funded family medical services can also be provided in private medical institutions. This opportunity is opened by the Rezus Family Clinic, which has started operating in the Santariškės district.
“Everyone deserves to feel heard and receive help when it is truly needed. The family doctor is often the first person we turn to with our concerns or questions about health, so it is important to us that this step is simple and does not cause additional stress. By opening a family clinic in Santariškės, we aimed to be closer to the people - so that the way to the doctor is as short as possible and concern for health does not become another challenge,” says Daiva Kazlauskienė, director of the Rezus group.
What does free family medicine really cover?
Every resident insured with compulsory health insurance can choose where to take care of their health - in a public or private clinic. If the medical institution cooperates with the Territorial Health Insurance Fund, the services of a family doctor are free for the patient - they are financed by the state. By registering with a family clinic, the patient gains access to services that are extremely important in daily health care. This includes the ability to see a family doctor or general practice nurse in a timely manner, conduct necessary laboratory tests, receive referrals for specialist consultations, and develop a clear treatment and follow-up care plan.
Another part of free family medicine is disease prevention. Patients can participate in state prevention programs aimed at the early diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, oncological disorders, and other chronic diseases. This care allows health changes to be noticed before they cause significant symptoms, enabling timely actions.
The family doctor - the axis of the system
In the modern health system, the family doctor is not just a “referral writer.” This is a specialist who knows the patient, sees their health as a whole, monitors the course of chronic diseases, assesses risk factors, and helps make decisions related to further treatment or lifestyle changes.
Therefore, effective primary health care starts with the ability to see your family doctor in a timely manner. When this link works smoothly, both the patient and the entire health system benefit.
The Rezus Family Clinic, which opened its doors in the Santariškės district, is based on accessibility and consistent care. It is located conveniently for residents of the northern and surrounding districts, who until now often had to travel to more distant medical institutions.
“Today, many people live at an intense pace. Work, family, and daily concerns often push health into the background. Therefore, we aimed to make a visit to a family doctor as simple as possible and easily compatible with the day's schedule - we work from 7 AM to 8 PM so everyone can find a suitable time. We also took care of free parking because even small details like these can determine whether a person postpones a visit,” states D. Kazlauskienė.

All help in one place
One of the distinctions of the Rezus Family Clinic is that the family doctor works here together with a large team of specialists, including physiotherapists. Registered patients can participate in free physiotherapy sessions in a modern gym, where exercises are conducted in small groups under the supervision of a specialist. Physiotherapy procedures such as lymphatic drainage, electrostimulation, ultrasound, and shockwave therapy are also performed free of charge by the doctor's appointment.
The clinic also employs a pediatrician, so parents can consult about their children's health in one place. In the same service complex, patients are also seen by allergists and immunologists.
“It is important for patients to feel calm from the first step into the clinic, to know where to turn, that help will be nearby, and they will not need to wander between different doctors or institutions. When creating this clinic, we thought about a simple thing - that concern for health fits into everyday life,” says D. Kazlauskienė.
The path to health - without wandering
The family clinic that opened its doors operates as part of the multidisciplinary Rezus Medical Center. This allows patients to receive some diagnostic tests or specialist consultations without having to knock on the doors of different medical institutions.
According to the director of the Rezus group, one of the greatest values of the medical center is a team working on the principle of synergy. Various specialists work under one roof and in adjacent medical institutions - cardiologists, traumatologists, neurologists, sonographers, infectologists, and other doctors, so they can easily consult with each other if needed.
To ensure the fastest possible diagnosis, the center also has a laboratory and X-ray office, so most of the necessary tests can be done on-site. This allows doctors to quickly evaluate the results, and ensures the patient a faster path to an accurate diagnosis and a clear treatment plan.
